Robert Boyd
Graphic Design (Student 3rd Year)
I am pursuing graphic design that has been a goal of mine since high
school, I made a decision to pursue my other career choices after high school
which was the military. This helped me to develop myself into the man I am
today, which gave me certain skill sets such as Drive, Determination, attention
to detail, punctuality and situational awareness.
These skills have helped me to be intuitive, disciplined and to pay attention to
what is going on and to think on my feet. These are skills that I believe make
me a great Graphic Designer. I am able to take criticism and grow from it as
well as make the required adjustments as people look at the work that I am
creating for them and make the required adjustments on the fly.
A story of thinking on my feet and making the required adjustments was when
I was training to be a weapon tech, I made a mistake and owned up
to what I did wrong and fixed the problem and learned from it by asking the
right questions and learning to not be afraid to ask a question or seek out the
right information if something did not seem right or if I did not understand what
was to be done. I learned to be proactive and to be sure of what I was needing
to do in the situation that I was in so that when I am executing what needs
to be done I am able to complete the required task properly.
